It's the age old argument " My mom is cooler than yours!" but I have come to believe that mine in reality probably is in a league of her own. In a world full of self indulged assholes, my mother has never given into the modern day bullshit the majority of people these days seem to burden themselves with. She does not require nice cars, a fancy house, monthly hair appointments or elaborate vacations. She has put others before herself her entire life. She has dedicated her life to helping others and has never asked for anything in return. Where most peoples' generous actions are in expectance of some sort of social praise she stands humbly in the back never saying a word. Its done because she knows no other way. It's not an option to walk away. I have seen blood on her hands from a dying boy hit by a car. I have seen her home destroyed on two occasions under 8 ft of water only to see her smile knowing, even though they had no flood insurance, all of her family was ok. If she has 50 dollars to her name she will give you 40 and thats a fact (She just needs gas money and some crackers.) She talks to her kids about the importance of giving to others. She talks to her kids about the importance of being open minded. Though she is not perfect (based on society's norms and relationship advice) she is quite possibly the coolest mom in the world. Well, at least my world. I am sure this will embarrass her but I just thought you should know. Thanks again for all the support momz! Luv ya! G
